Auf unserer Trilokatour 2006 nach Bangalore und Pondicherry haben wir den Ganeshatempel in Pondicherry besucht. Dieses Foto habe ich heute beim Durchstöbern meiner Bildarchive entdeckt.

Am vergangenen Donnerstag binich nach Münster gereist, zu unserer Abschlussveranstaltung von www.triloka.de. Das Daad-Stipendium für das Programm ist nun ausgelaufen und wir haben in verschiedenen kleinen Vorträgen von unseren Fahrten in 2006/2007 und 2008 berichtet. Die gedruckten Dokumentationen sind auch fertig und können bei Interesse am Lehrstuhl für Baukonstruktion, Münster School of Architecture erworben werden.

Heute bin ich via “A Daily Dose Of Architecture” auf ein Foto des Lotustempel in Delhi gestossen. Anne und ich waren dort auch zu besuch, auf unserer Reise durch Indien Anfang des Jahres.

Two million people displaced in Myanmar

Cyclone Nargis hit the heart of on Saturday morning. Government figures have reported at least 22,000 deaths and in the coming days it will be more. The BBC is reporting a US official estimating 100,000 deaths. 

In the coming weeks, the media will focus its attention on the loss of life, and the millions displaced. If permitted to support the relief effort, large aid agencies will be knee deep in immediate delivery of aid however, how will the country respond the need for communities to rebuild?

We are currently reaching out to our community to raise funds to provide design services to communities affected by the disaster. We will be reaching out to and supporting architects who are in-country or who have worked in-country in the past. This is a small start, but could affect tens of thousands of those displaced. We are also compiling a list of post-disaster projects. To contribute to this list, share your ideas on the Open Architecture Network or contact us.
