Day 9: Jodhpur, the blue city

Hello everyone,

After a nice breakfast on a rooftop overlooking the city we went up to the massive fort called Mehrangarh where we were able to get loads of information about the history of this special place on a very good audiotour which was included in the entry fee. Again there were the most beautiful rooms with incredible oriental ornaments on walls, doors, windows and from up here was the best view on to the blue city. Most of the houses are really painted a wonderful indigo blue which apart from being beuatiful protects against sun and insects. It is amazing how many shades of blue there are…

Day 8: Von Pushkar nach Jodhpur, der blauen Stadt

Hier sind wir nun, in der so oft ertraeumten blauen Stadt. Und es ist wirklich wunderschoen. Obwohl auch diese Stadt nicht gefeit ist vor dem fiesen, lauten, stinckenden Verkehr, der sich selbst durch die kleinste Gasse schiebt. Einfach zu viel !!!
Unser Hotel liegt inmitten der alten historischen Stadtmauer und hat eine wunderbare Aussicht ueber die ganze Stadt.
